Use to be you'd hop about the world of Super Mario, bashing into blocks, fracturing them and collecting the power-ups within - all without a care in the world. That is, until you look inside the instruction booklet that came with the original pressings of the cartridge in 1985, and realise all the "stones" and "bricks" you're smashing into were the past residents of the Kingdom itself.
