16 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2017

4. Farpoint

"The game that will be PS VR's killer app!" rang out the pre-release hype, as Farpoint was supposed to be an innovative new game only worth experiencing in VR. Sony even created an all-new controller that transformed the PS Move into a very Wii Zapper-like single gun combo - something that at least meant controlling Farpoint would be different to the majority of other releases.

Then it launched... and Farpoint was yet again another on-rails shooter.

You were free to strafe left and right between various cover points, but between repetitive enemies and the sudden realisation that despite the illusion of movement, you're still being funnelled down a corridor of horrors, this didn't do enough to differentiate from other stale blasters like Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and, well, every single PS VR game.
