1. Super Mario Bros.
This one could not have been more obvious, yet may require the most justification. It's worth noting that the Super Mario Bros. have already already tried to take the box office by storm... but instead ended up as little more than a light drizzle. In the two decades since then, the live action Mario movie starring the late Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo and the late Dennis Hopper has all but faded from public memory. Its legacy being that of a fixture in lists of the worst movie adaptations based on video games of all time, yet becoming something of a home video cult classic - usually for all the reasons those responsible for its existence wouldn't want it to be remembered. In some cases, younger audiences who know "It's-a me!" more than "Hey, paisanos!" don't even know of the movie at all. What's more, if Batman (and comic book movies in general) could be reborn by now following the bomb that was Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin, then it's probably been more than enough time for audiences to give Mario and Luigi a second shot in Tinseltown. Who else do you think should have made the cut? Think any should rank higher than they did, or would be better off in live-action, or not as a movie at all? Tell us in the comments below!
