What It's About: A side-scrolling strategic shooter which allows players to control spies on either sides of the Cold War, infilitrating Soviet and American bases, stealing plans and preventing weapons from being launched. The name of the game is a combination of stealth and efficient gunplay. Why You Need To Play It: For starters, it's currently available as part of the PS4's Instant Game Collection, so it won't cost you anything if you're a PlayStation Plus member. Secondly, it's one of the more unique and interesting stealth games to come down the pike in a while. Borrowing more than a few elements from Metal Gear Solid but also boasting plenty of innovative features all of its own (such as a DEFCON alert mode, where being spotted kicks off a time limit for you to restore order or fail the mission), Counterspy is a fun spy yarn with a solid level of challenge and a brilliantly bewildering progression system.
