12. Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty

What It's About: A ground-up HD remake of the classic 1997 PlayStation game Abe's Oddysee, New 'n' Tasty! puts players in control of alien creature Abe, as he attempts to escape a slave compound all while saving as many of his fellow Mudokons as possible. Why You Need To Play It: While the original game was brutally, hair-tearingly difficult at times, New 'n' Tasty is a much more user-friendly beast, owing to a new and improved save and checkpoint system which prevents too much infuriating repetition. In addition, the game looks fantastic and isn't just a lazy upscaled remastering: it's been made from scratch, and is well worth the small expense whether you're a fan of the original game or have never heard of it. Challenging, often hilarious and vastly improving upon the original title, New 'n' Tasty has set a high standard by which all other HD remakes will be judged. Hopefully it does well enough for Just Add Water to remake Abe's Exoddus as well...
