17 Secret Video Game Bosses You Need To Beat Before You Die

4. Bayonetta - Father Rodin

How you get there: There's no convoluted entry requirement required for gaining access to the Father Rodin boss fight, but it is time consuming. So much so, that unless you were hopelessly addicted to Bayonetta when you first played through it, you probably never even realised the secret boss fight existed. But then, he has the label of secret boss for a reason.

In order to release Rodin's true power, you'll need to gather 10,000,000 golden halos (the game's currency) over your total play time. That means you'll be needing to complete the game several times, at least. Once you have enough, you'll be able to purchase the Platinum Ticket, and be whisked off to the boss arena.

Why you need to beat them: Father Rodin is, without a shadow of a doubt, the hardest boss in the entirety of Bayonetta. Remember that final, planet-sized boss you fought at the end of the game's story mode? Yeah, Rodin has the exact same amount of health as that monstrosity, does more damage and has a far wider range of attacks.

Some would go so far as to say that you haven't truly completed Bayonetta until you've bested Father Rodin in battle. Most importantly though, defeating him gives you access to a secret weapon.
