Okay, so Guitar Hero may - at least to some - be somewhat of a dirty word when it comes to 'real' gaming, but let's not forget what this list is all about. Guitar Hero, whether you're a fan of the franchise or not, is one of those rare games that comes along every now and then as a universally playable game by gamers and non-gamers alike. Few things (or at least few things that don't contain some level of alcohol) can get a gathering of people going as effectively as this game, especially once the formula had been refined and perfected by the third instalment. Let's be honest, not everybody gets the same feeling of accomplishment or thrill from unlocking every achievement in a game or for maintaining an impressive K:D ratio that hardcore gamers do, but who can't get excited about taking on Slash in a one-on-one guitar battle?
