18 Greatest Video Games Of The PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 Generation

13. Borderlands 2

If you've ever wanted a game that mixes the loot-hoarding addictiveness of Diablo with an FPS shooter, Gearbox has you covered with the Borderlands series. It's a game based around guns - finding them, equipping them and then unleashing all manner of inordinate hellfire afterwards. The constant drive to find and equip better weapons is what really drives Borderlands 2 forward and happily, that's supported by several other key features of the game. Firstly, the whole thing is playable in four player co-op which is an absolute blast, especially when facing off against the tougher monsters within the game. The writing is pretty exceptional too; the game has a great sense of humour and it's antagonist Handsome Jack was particularly beloved for his witty personality and bizarre choice in masks. The cel-shaded style also gives the game a unique look and it looks even better in motion. The first Borderlands game laid out the groundwork, but part two came, building on those foundations and then smashing them into pieces again with crazy style - it's a genuine blast from start to finish.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
