19 Most Laughably Unfair Video Game Bosses Of All Time
18. Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 - Galactus
The actual presentation of the final boss battle with Galactus in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is terrific. Aside from the character's eternally ridiculous colour scheme and helmet, the fact that you're fighting a dude the size of a planet is suitably epic, but that doesn't mean the fight itself isn't absolutely, unequivocally unfair. Why it's unfair: It shouldn't really come as a surprise I guess, this being a Capcom fighter and all, but Galactus is quite obviously designed to be unfair. Practically every single attack that the world-eater connects with the player causes them to haemorrhage health at an alarming rate. Adding insult to that - very painful - injury is the irritating fact that Galactus cannot be stunned, staggered or subdued for a little breathing room in any way whatsoever. Oh, and even after all that, I totally forgot to mention that you can't even attempt to fight Galactus until after you beat three clones consisting of either Akuma, Wesker, Dr. Doom or Dormammu, all at the same time. Having to conquer such a fight before Galactus even appears wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a thinly-veiled attempt at wasting your time. Indeed, the in-game timer doesn't reset once you beat the aforementioned clones - so your foe is the clock just as much as it is that overgrown power ranger.
