19 Predictions For This Fall's MetaCritic Gaming Scores

1. Hitman

MetaCritic Score: 82 What To Expect: Consistency is key here. The Hitman series has habitually scored from the mid-70s to mid-80s throughout its tenure without much variation, and it's unlikely that this reboot will do much to change that. Though the fact that the game launches with a nominal number of missions and adds more over time will surely prove divisive to those wanting a comprehensive out-of-the-box experience (even though it in fact launches as digital-only), the game's clear improvements over 2012's Absolution (namely making the difficulty-destroying Instinct mode optional and refining disguises to be less, well, absolute) will surely be met with high acclaim. Ultimately, however, it all hinges on whether or not the series can deliver the imaginative mission variety that has defined the series in even its "lesser" installments. All signs are certainly pointing to yes so far, so as long as the game launches with a decent wealth of content, everything's looking good.
