Cuphead is one of the most acclaimed video games of the last decade - a mesmerising run 'n' gun game bolstered by its deeply challenging gameplay, unforgettable boss fights, and all-timer art direction.
Cuphead sold 5 million copies within two years of its release, its brilliant DLC The Delicious Last Course sold a million copies in just two weeks, and in 2022 an animated series was even launched for Netflix.
It certainly seemed probable that developer Studio MDHR was now be all-in on Cuphead, then, but more than eight years removed from the original's release, we still don't have any hint of a Cuphead 2.
Quite the opposite, in fact, as though Studio MDHR is currently staffing up for their next game, they've made numerous suggestions it would be something other than a Cuphead sequel, though will likely feature a similar art style.
