20 Announced Video Games You Won't Play For YEARS
1. Star Wars Eclipse
And finally we have another Star Wars game you won't be playing for ages yet - Star Wars Eclipse, a new action-adventure romp from Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human developers Quantic Dream.
As players expect from the studio, Eclipse will feature multiple protagonists and branching storylines, while being set in the High Republic era of Star Wars some 200 years before The Phantom Menace.
Eclipse was announced at The Game Awards 2021 with a gorgeous cinematic reveal trailer, but in the four-plus years since we've seen nothing new about the game, prompting some to speculate that it might've been quietly cancelled.
Even as far back as 2022, reports did the rounds online that the game likely wouldn't release until 2027 or 2028, and the 2024 departure of lead writer Adam Williams only added further fuel to that fire.
Given that near-total radio silence from Quantic Dream over the last few years, and the fact that they're also developing competitive multiplayer game Spellcasters Chronicles, it seems highly improbable we get Eclipse before 2028.
Last October studio head David Cage did confirm that Eclipse was still in development, but that's it.
