20 Best Boss Battles From Recent Video Games

16. The End - Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Mafia: The Old Country
Konami

Even with the asterisk that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, its shiny new rendition of debatably the series' single most iconic boss fight just has to make this list.

Though you can still cheese the aged sniper The End by shooting him during an early cutscene or winding your console's clock forward to make him die of old age, you'd be depriving yourself of one of the most intense and brilliantly creative boss fights ever.

The End is an expert marksman and tracker who will easily capture players who don't engage him stealthily, in turn forcing the fight to drag on for a long time.

This fight is basically a puzzle in of itself, with players having multiple options for taking The End down, though thermal goggles are an easy way to keep track of his movements.

While there was understandable worry that Konami's sans-Hideo Kojima remake would result in some seriously compromised reworkings of the game's beloved boss encounters, that thankfully wasn't the case at all.
