We tend to talk about open-world superhero games in relation to Marvel or DC, but gaming has birthed a handful of its own that are just as fun and memorable. Crackdown in particular remains quite possibly the only open-world games where we actually enjoyed hoovering up the collectibles.

And why? Because developers Realtime Worlds positively nailed the feeling of locomotion, challenging you to track down every last one of those shiny green orbs through a mix of jumping entire buildings in a single bound, or mantling up the sides of walls, one ledge at a time.
