20 Best Video Games Of 2019

4. Control

Sadly underselling to the point of barely charting on any charts in the West, Control is an exemplary offering from a supremely talented and time-tested studio.

Max Payne and Alan Wake remain playable as hell, but after Quantum Break was hampered by Microsoft's plans for a half-game, half-video experience, Control feels like their most focused and quality controlled product yet.

A ludicrously fun combat system comprising telepathic physics powers and a transforming weapon let you wreak havoc across a backdrop of government conspiracies. See, Control's best asset is its mystery, as protagonist Jesse turns up to the "Federal Bureau of Control", only to find a Men in Black-style facility that catalogues everyday supernatural occurrences.

I won't say more than that, but the roller coaster Control takes you on is one of the finest adventures of the year.

The world Remedy have created deserves as many eyeballs as possible, and with more DLC to come across 2020, do yourself a favour and pick this up.
