20 Biggest Games Of 2015: What Do We Already Know?
3. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Release Date: Mid-2015 (probably). What It's About: The fifth core entry into the classic cinematic action series, taking place in 1984 as Venom Snake (aka Big Boss) launches a revenge attack against those who destroyed his Diamond Dogs army during last year's prologue game, Ground Zeroes. The Buzz: Anyone who played Ground Zeroes knows that the gameplay is absolutely smooth as silk, and while Kojima has shown a lot of gameplay off for The Phantom Pain, he's kept the story pretty close to his chest for now. Fun though the gameplay looks to be, the real joy for MGS fans is in experiencing the insane plots Kojima unravels, and this time it'll chart Big Boss' descent into villainy. Will It Be Any Good?: Absolutely. The gameplay is incredibly intuitive and the graphics look phenomenal. As long as the open-world approach doesn't abandon the cinematic storytelling completely or deny players some insane boss fights, then it's all good.
