Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the critically adorned and multi-award-winning debut from Sandfall Interactive, follows a small group of expeditioners who set out across a fantastical world. Their mission is to defeat the Paintress, a god-like being who paints a number on a distant monolith that dictates the age at which the remaining population dies.

After venturing across the map, battling dozens of imposing enemies, players eventually climb to the top of the monolith to confront the Paintress. This is the epic battle they've been waiting for, and the game doesn't disappoint.

Following a first phase in which the Paintress deploys punishingly long combos capable of decimating the party's health, the fight only intensifies in the second phase. At this point, she summons a gigantic version of herself that's able to rip reality apart and inflict a curse on the party that kills them in a few turns. However, the fight isn't over yet.

Upon depleting her health bar for a second time, a defeated Paintress now sits motionless throughout the third phase, allowing players to finish her off unimpeded. As the soundtrack takes a melancholic turn, this long-awaited confrontation becomes an emotionally resonant conclusion to this game's second act.
