20 Classic Nintendo Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels

18. Balloon Fight

Balloon Fight is such a simple, fun game, but it's never really gotten a proper successor. This "Joust, but better" game from the early days of the NES featured two modes: The combat-centric A and B modes, and then there was mode C, "Balloon Trip." Balloon Trip has gotten its fair share of attention over the years, with a sequel in Balloon Kid for the Game Boy and cameos in titles such as WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Nintendo Land. Great as those are, however, the regular mode A remains a favorite, and we would love to see a mode B with online features. Aside from a Japanese Club Nintendo-exclusive release in Tingle's Balloon Fight for the Nintendo DS, though, Nintendo has yet to return to the title's eponymous Balloon Fights.
