20 Classic Nintendo Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels
19. Mole Mania
Mole Mania is an oft-overlooked brainchild of none other than Shigeru Miyamoto himself. Unfortunately, it was released at a time when the Game Boy was between its peak periods, after the initial boom had died down, but before Pokemon had rejuvenated the platform. Those who have played it regard it as a classic, and the gameplay is likened to some sequences in certain portions of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword as Muddy Mole moves above and below ground to get around obstacles to complete levels. One interesting way to bring it back would be to return it to handhelds on the Nintendo 3DS, with the top screen representing the above-ground map and the lower screen the underground. Sort of like New Super Mario Bros., but with more functionality in mind than simple aesthetics.
