20 Coolest Trailers For Bad Video Games

This list just wouldn't be complete without MindsEye. The 2025 game from developer Build a Rocket Boy quickly caught the eye when it was unveiled with a stylish trailer that showed off gunfights, car chases and explosive set pieces in a beautiful futuristic city that looked like Grand Theft Auto meets Watch Dogs. 

Further trailers built on that initial strong impression, showing off the fictional city of Redrock and the gameplay mechanics in more detail. Many expected MindsEye's eventual release to fill a void while people were waiting for news on the next GTA instalment, particularly due to the involvement of Build a Rocket Boy's Leslie Benzies, who had previously worked on the Grand Theft Auto series at Rockstar. Then came the actual release in June, and those GTA comparisons quickly faded from memory. MindsEye was hammered by critics and players for dated design, multiple technical problems, and repetitive gameplay that did nothing to move the genre forward.

With bugs and AI issues causing Build a Rocket Boy to release several patches and fixes almost immediately, it felt like MindsEye was beyond saving. This sadly proved to be the case, with Sony even allowing refunds for PS5 players who bought the game at launch, and not even the patches could salvage its reputation.
