6. Siding With The Kuei-Jin - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines is an RPG where you’re put in the role of a fledgling vampire trying to find their place within the bloodsucking community.
Throughout the game you have to decide which vampiric society you’re going to support. Your most obvious choices are the two major vampire sects in Los Angeles, although you can also secretly join a third group… and immediately regret not picking up on their obvious red flags.
The Kuei-jin are the mysterious vampires from Asia that serve as the third side of the imminent vampire war in Los Angeles. Their leader, Ming Xiao, tells you several times that their kind doesn’t get along with Western vampires, but in the final act of the game, when your character is hunted by the Camarilla, you can ask them for help anyway.
This will let you play through the final act as normal, but in the final cutscene, the Kuei-jin take over the city.
Your reward for helping the people who openly called you inferior to them is, quite obviously, getting stuffed inside a sarcophagus and then dropped into the bottom of the ocean.
And if you want to fix this outcome, now you have to backtrack all the way to the start of the final act. Great.
