King’s Quest 2: Romancing the Throne is one of Sierra Entertainment’s point-and-click adventures. The game follows the adventures of King Graham as he tries to rescue his future wife from an evil witch, and as you would expect from its prequel, it is full of deadly and treacherous moments that punish you for making the wrong decision.

In fact, one moment in the game is so harsh about punishing reckless behavior that it can force you to repeat the whole game for it.

While traversing the map, the player has to pass a rope bridge suspended over a giant chasm. The construction isn’t the most stable, and every time you cross it, you will see a part of it fall off.

Indeed, the bridge will fully collapse after you cross it six times, which is actually the exact number of times you have to do it to complete all of the game’s missions.

This means that if you forget to do something while backtracking, you might end up having to cross the bridge one too many times, effectively softlocking yourself and rendering hours of playtime completely worthless.
