Although the world of Hollow Knight is ravaged by a horrible plague, the game still features a handful of friendly NPCs. This said, not all of them are trustworthy, and putting your faith in Millibelle in particular can have some really negative consequences on your game.

Millibelle is a merchant in Fog Canyon who offers one-of-a-kind banking services. For a small fee, she lets you deposit your excess Geos, preventing their potential loss should you die.

This seems like the perfect deal for safekeeping a ton of hard-earned Geos for the moment when you need them the most. However, Millibelle shows signs that she’s not the most trustworthy bug, such as the fact that she hides your stuff inside her shell instead of a vault.

If you ignore these signs and deposit over 2,000 Geo into her business, when you return to her “bank” later, Millibelle will be gone and the building will turn out to be a cardboard cutout.

Thankfully, you can find the thief in a pleasure house later in the game and regain all of your Geo, but if you needed it at a specific moment and Millibelle was nowhere to be found, the mistake can ruin your run.
