20 Games That Made The Movies BETTER
4. From Russia With Love (2005)
The old Bonds can feel a bit stuffy and old hat to modern audiences, but From Russia With Love - the game - is the tonic to this.
From Russia With Love was only the second Bond film, and one where the series was still really finding its feet. Connery was in post, and Spectre was cackling away in the background, but the more elaborate gadgets, and the iconic Aston Martin DB5 had yet to be added. Needless to say, there was no video game at time of release (1963), but several decades on, during a lull between the Brosnan and Craig cinematic eras, EA circled back and developed a doozy.
This game took the story of the film and ran with it, managing to nail the classic Bond style, tone and action, while adding in other key elements from the Connery run, including the car (which debuted in Goldfinger) and Thunderball's jetpack. And it wasn’t a walk in the park: players have to really tune in and engage in order to crush these tough levels, with a skilled yet mortal Bond acting, well, like a real superspy ought to - not as some nigh-indestructible superhero juggernaut.
