20 Games That Made The Movies BETTER
5. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022)
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga brought together all previous LEGO Star Wars games and reworked them for current gen consoles, with a comprehensive retelling of the entire story - and despite fatigue for LEGO synergy from some corners, it managed to capture players of all ages, tapping into nostalgia and a fresh sense of wonder in equal parts.
The Skywalker Saga allows players to take control of pretty much every named character from the entire Star Wars film series, playing through the story of episodes I to IX with new and improved levels, plus an endless stream of surprises, challenges, battles and unlockables. The look of the characters and settings is dead on, the graphics sharp, and the humour somehow straddling the sensibilities of both Star Wars and LEGO.
A success on every front, the game unifies the saga and makes it feel more of a piece with itself. No longer is there such a stark visual dip from the prequels to the classic trilogy, nor do we feel like the sequels are so isolated from the rest of the continuity. And this the game's greatest achievement: making us affectionate even for the films we're not so keen on, whether prequels, sequels or even the scarce few who aren’t so fussed about the originals.
