20 Greatest First-Person Shooter Levels Of All Time

11. Operation Swordbreaker - Battlefield 3

battlefield-3 The Battlefield series has never been short of great campaign missions and Battlefield 3 was no exception. The second mission of the campaign had the USMC's undertake peace keeping missions in the Iraq/Iran region. You were tasked to find a missing Marine team from the region but of course, nothing is ever that simple. The mission itself had a lot of different elements that helped make it one of the more standout missions. Throughout the course of the mission you had to contend with constant tremors, an ambush by enemy troops, hunting down a sniper and diffusing an IED. All those constant tremors came back in full force at the end of the mission- resulting in a huge scale earthquake that totals the city.

10. The Mines - Red Faction

red-faction Red Faction came out with the bold statement of a completely destructible world and by heck did it deliver! The opening level had you in the mining boots of Parker, who escaped to Mars in hopes of a better life but was instead forced to work long hours under the ruthlessness of Ultor. There have also been talks of an uprising within the mining community by a resistance led by Eos- a shadowy figure that Ultor are desperate to hush up. The uprising commences and Parker is caught up in the middle of it all, being forced to fight his way out of the mines. This may sound easy to do in a short amount of time but the sheer distraction of the destructible environment is no doubt going to distract you. I spent a good lot of my time running around the level blowing holes in the walls with my remote charges- the inclusion of the drilling machine also really didn't help me progress through the level any quicker.
