8. Tyrant (Resident Evil: Code Veronica)

If you're unfortunate enough to find yourself facing off against the Tyrant in Code Veronica's confining airplane hanger then you can more or less kiss you chances of finishing the game goodbye, because if you end up taking the boss on at this section of the game then there's a good chance you're going to be laughably unprepared. Having usually spent most of your ammo by this point (especially if it's your first time through), you're going to be massively out-gunned trying to take down the beast by using conventional methods. In an attempt to knock the mutated boss out of the airlock Aliens style, the tight space combined with Resident Evil's clunky control scheme made for some truly awkward and unnecessary deaths. While you might have faced off against the Tyrant in previous games in the series, this particular beast has never felt quite as menacing or as powerful as he did in Code Veronica.
