The Space stage of the evolution sim, Spore, allows you to explore an entire galaxy filled with thousands of planets and just as many interactable species.

And yet, for all of the richness and variety of life you can encounter in the vastness of space, the one creature any Spore player secretly wishes to find is... Steve.

The greatest achievement the player can accomplish in the final stage of their creatures' evolution is venturing to the center of the Galaxy. The journey requires plenty of preparation and skill, as your ship will not only need to have the engine to travel across distant solar systems but also dodge an onslaught of hostile Grox ships that occupy a huge ring of systems surrounding the core.

The trip to the other side is treacherous, but your reward for it is finding the rarest NPC in the game, Steve the flying saucer, who tells the secrets of the universe and then awards you with the Staff of Life, a unique ship tool that allows you to instantly terraform up to forty planets to level 3 habitability.

He may have a generic name (apologies to all the Steves out there), but he sure is a special guy.
