20 Most Embarrassing Video Game Moments Of The Decade
4. The Watch Dogs Downgrade Debacle
It must be said, that anyone expecting the exact game they see at E3 is a madman. But in the case of Watch Dogs, it was a very serious downgrade that came out a little bit after the game was released, when someone dug around the files on the PC.
Even before the launch, media and gamers speculated as to whether or not the game had been downgraded, and that turned into the truth - to a pretty ridiculous degree.
After rooting around in the game files, PC users found graphical files that made the game look like the E3 reveal that built so much initital hype. Some of the files even had the E3 tag left in them.
While it did make the game look significantly better, users reported that it hurt the performance of the game by a lot, and the graphical downgrade didn't help Watch Dogs in the long run, as it really didn't live up to all the hype it had created. In retrospect, it turned into just another moment in a hard year for Ubisoft.
