20 Most Embarrassing Video Game Moments Of The Decade
5. The Fallout Of Martin O'Donnell Being Fired From Bungie
Anyone that has played a Bungie game is familiar with the amazing music Martin O'Donnell has composed. Hell, the release of the Halo 2 soundtrack was the best-selling video game soundtrack of all time in the United States. His work is easy to notice, and he has been able to add to the atmosphere of Bungie games immensely. That all came to a pretty drastic end in 2014 after O'Donnell announced via Twitter he had been fired by Bungie "without cause."
O'Donnell went on to sue Bungie in a case that he won, and boy did he win. O'Donnell was granted close to $250,000 and a restoration of all his stock holdings in the company.
While Bungie is a privately held company, and no one is sure just how much stock he gained back, one can speculate it had to be a decent amount. Marty may not have been all that innocent in the matter, with reports coming out he was difficult to work with towards the end over frustrations with Activision's handling of music in Destiny, but it's certain that any time a firing like this goes as public as this one did, it's going to get messy.
