20 Most Embarrassing Video Game Moments Of The Decade
14. The Konami And Hideo Kojima Drama
This one hits home. Hideo Kojima is responsible for making some of the most influential game series of all time in Metal Gear. What was supposed to be the end in Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't true, and to their delight, fans were getting one last game in Metal Gear Solid V. With Hayter out and Sutherland in, the majority of us already had shaky feelings.
Then horse poop hit the fan.
Really, the story is too long to put here as twists and turns were abound for over a year. Most notably however was the quiet removal of Hideo Kojima's name from his own games - even the box art of MGS V was changed. This was when word came out there was a rift in the Konami and Kojima relationship.
It all culminated at The Game Awards, where Metal Gear Solid V was nominated for five awards and won two, yet Kojima wasn't there, having been forbid to attend from Konami. Sutherland accepted the awards on behalf of Kojima, but what followed aired it all to the public, as Geoff Keighley gave a seething, unrehearsed short speech about how Kojima was barred from the event.
