20 Most Replayable Video Game Moments Of The 2000s

19. Fallout 3 (2008) - Taking On A Super Mutant In The Wasteland

Fallout 3 was a mostly successful integration of classic Fallout elements - like VATS and the PIP Boy - with the sprawling, if sometimes superficial, gameplay of Elder Scrolls IV. While combat isn't Fallout 3's strongest point, encountering Super Mutants in the wasteland remains a thrill. Provided you're playing at a difficulty level where you need to be wary of ammo expenditure, meeting one of these ogres out in the wasteland feels like a desperate scramble for survival. Your VATS points are unlikely to finish it off, so your fight can become a protracted affair involving switching weapons, crippling leg shots, and jacking yourself to the eyeballs on Stimpaks to recover from the damage. For a real grandstand finish to the fight, we recommend saving your rocket launcher for the coup de gras. A dead Super Mutant propelled through the air in slow motion by a rocket is truly a sight to behold...
