13. Ratchet & Clank
On the PS1 the war was waged between Crash and Spyro, and as both Naughty Dog and Insomniac made the leap across the generational gap, they birthed two new sets of warriors, Jak & Daxter and for the latter, Ratchet & Clank. The sequels would go way too far into gun-toting territory compared to where this first instalment kicked off for their own good, and that's precisely why you should seek out the original. From platforming to loveable characters such as Clank himself and the fantastic Captain Quark, Ratchet's first instalment is set for a full reboot to coincide with the movie later in 2016, but for now it holds up perfectly well thanks to sublime controls and animations that ooze charm from every pore.
