20 PS2 Games That Prove It's The Best Console Ever

14. The Simpsons: Hit & Run

Considering how frequently licensed games tend to come undone during production, it's actually quite a miracle that Radical Entertainment's Simpsons: Hit & Run ended up being such a success.

Effectively GTA but situated in the town of Springfield, Hit & Run is a love-letter to Matt Groening's formidable animated series, and is stuffed to bits with references and throwbacks to classic Simpsons episodes. It also plays very well, boasting an arcade-y style that sees the player assume control of a wide array of classic vehicles from the series, including Homer's iconic pink sedan, Mr. Plow, and even 'The Homer' from the episode, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

Then there's the story, which is arguably a better 'Simpsons Movie' than the actual Simpsons Movie, complete with Kang, Kodos, and Treehouse of Horror-esque humour aplenty.

It remains the best Simpsons game of all time, and though that's not exactly a difficult feat to achieve, given the competition, Hit & Run is still a classic from the sixth generation of consoles.
