Release Date: Q2/Q3 (multiplayer) The Hype: The long-awaited sequel to 2010's Crackdown 2 aims to take the series to bold new heights by taking advantage of innovative cloud technology to provide 20x the processing power of a single Xbox One console, allowing for city-wide levels of destruction like have never been seen on a game console. Why It Might Suck: Though the idea sounds tantalising enough, there are a ton of question marks surrounding it: firstly, the cloud-based destruction will only be available in the multiplayer part of the game, and curiously, while the multiplayer suite has been dated for the summer, the single player portion is reportedly going to be released separately later on. Then there's the possibility that, out in the field, the cloud tech simply won't work in the way that Reagent Games are hoping. We've all seen countless botched launches of ambitious games, and this could easily just fall apart when millions of people are trying to play it all at once. And finally, maybe the fun novelty of all that processing power will wear off pretty quickly.
