10. Gears of War 4 Leaves Fans Missing Marcus Fenix
Release Date: Q3 The Hype: The first core Gears game since 2011 seeks to serve up the same brutal, visually stunning gameplay, albeit with a new host of characters, including Marcus Fenix's son JD. Why It Might Suck: Fans have already expressed their disapproval of the fact that Marcus apparently won't appear in the game, and many feel that JD may simply end up being a limp and pointless substitute. Then there's the feeling that the game may be too much of the same in terms of gameplay, art style and so on. It's not like anyone really plays these games for the story, so a little diversity in terms of set-pieces and bosses would be nice. And finally, there's the fact that the campaign only supports 2-player co-op, when 4-player has been a recent franchise staple. New games shouldn't be making steps back like this.
