20 Severely Underrated Pokémon That Deserve A Second Chance

18. Tyranitar

Cast aside by so many due to a fairly high number of type weaknesses, Tyranitar can actually be quite the powerhouse if used effectively. For a start, almost has as many type strengths as it does weaknesses, meaning it can be an extremely effective adversary for any of six other types in battle.

Tyranitar is also very physical beast which, given most of the types it is weak against have better Special Defence stats than they do Defence, can really help it balance the scales if caught out. Its ability Sandstorm is also, for me, one of the most effective in the game as it chips away at the HP of opposing Pokémon for five turns while Tyranitar is still on the field.

Given its potential for longevity, this is a lovely bonus.
