20 Severely Underrated PS1 Games You Totally Missed

10. Omega Boost

https://youtu.be/1L2BJ-TCU9k Omega Boost is one of the most insanely great games that completely underperformed. What makes it so great? For starters, it€™s a mech shooter developed by Polyphony Digital - the guys that brought you Gran Turismo. Likewise, Shoji Kawamori, creator of the Macross franchise did the robot designs. Finally, the team that worked on it was the former dev team for Sega€™s Panzer Dragoon. Phew! The gameplay is pretty unique. It€™s a rail shooter that allows you to freely move and dodge around attacks. Enemies come at you in set waves that you have to get through to fight the next batch. Unlike titles like Lethal Enforcers or Virtua Cop, you are not ever confined to one spot, allowing you to take on the opponents at your own pace. Sadly, Omega Boost didn€™t fly off shelves. Poor marketing, and bad review scores combined with being released at the end of the PSX€™s lifespan all helped to keep this as a cult classic rather than the widespread success it should have been. Used copies are cheap, but there is no PS Store release. Sad, since it€™s a Sony produced game.
