20 Severely Underrated PS1 Games You Totally Missed
13. Dragon Valor
https://youtu.be/x0JRvgGFTBc Dragon Valor, produced by Namco, is a game that doesnt quite fit into any one genre. Its an action RPG with platforming and hack-n-slash gameplay. Its actually the third game in the Dragon Buster series, but it doesnt really require any knowledge of events from the previous two games. The gameplay involves you running through a sidescrolling stage where will encounter enemies, items, and traps. The enemies can be ignored sometimes, but they easily gang up on you. After getting through a few areas, youll usually come upon a boss. The final boss of most chapters is of course the titular dragons. The premise of the story is that Clovis, a young man out to avenge the death of his sister, wields a powerful sword capable of slaying dragons. As Clovis travels in search of the dragon that slew his sister, he encounters two women. The choices that the player makes, determines who Clovis marries, and subsequently what route the story will take. After Clovis slays the dragon, the story moves on to his heir, and continues on as a multi-generational tale determined by player choices throughout. Dragon Valor is available on the Singapore PS Store at the moment. Used copies are plentiful and cheap as well.
