20 Severely Underrated PS1 Games You Totally Missed

12. Chaos Break

https://youtu.be/r58qu-Cu9Qc Chaos Break is that sort of game, like many others on this list, that was buried underneath the hype for more popular games in it€™s genre. Released in 2000, it€™s a side story to an earlier game called Chaos Heat. While Chaos Heat was an arcade only beat-em-up, Break shifted to the survival horror genre. Of course, this genre already had quite a few popular entries released, with Dino Crisis and Resident Evil 3 just months before CB could even get a chance. Unlike many of the classic survival horror games, Chaos Break is more in line with the modern action horror games where you€™re actually able to fight your way out of a situation. You play as either Mitsuki or Rick as you investigate an biochemical lab that€™s been abandoned. Weird heat signatures were detected, so the pair was sent to see what was going on. As expected, it was infested with monsters. Pretty straightforward, but fun none the less. The game was only released in Japan and Europe. Used copies aren€™t very expensive, and the Japanese version is available on the Japanese PS Store.
