20 Severely Underrated PS1 Games You Totally Missed

14. Carnage Heart

https://youtu.be/C6lqXnBMguo Carnage Heart€™s story is pretty simple - there€™s a war, and it€™s being fought by unmanned drones. You, the commander, have to lead these drones to victory by conquering enemy bases and destroying opposing drones. Pretty simple so far, right? So here comes the complex part. In order to wage war, you must first program the A.I. of your robot. It€™s not just a few simple selections, instead you have to program it for any possible situation. What should it do if an enemy is shooting to the left of your unit? Go backwards? What weapons should it use? How should it defend bases? You essentially end up learning some basic programming skills. After that, the game is a turn based strategy game where you make modifications to your bots, tell factories to build more bots, and give them their orders to carry out in battle. Then you let the AI do it€™s thing and move on to the next turn. Carnage Heart was a pretty rare game at one time, though used copies have gotten cheaper in recent years. A enhanced version was released for the PSX in Japan, and that version is on Japan's PS Store.
