It's no exaggeration to claim that Sony's Horizon series offers two back-to-back titles that could be called the best-looking video games ever made. Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West are both absolutely mesmerising, and so something from this franchise had to get a mention here. It's incredibly hard to single out just one, but an area that really does deserve props is Dunehollow.

Found within the Stillsands, Dunehollow is an Old World site that brings a familiar place to the 31st century - the infamous Sin City, Las Vegas. While a lot of Horizon Forbidden West's beauty comes from seeing nature coexisting with old ruins and technology, this one stands out for the influx of bright lights and colours.

It takes some work to drain the place, switch it back on, and get it running again, but once you do, you're blown away by the over-the-top spectacle on display, thanks to the luminous neon lighting. Plus, there are plenty of real-world buildings, such as the Paris Las Vegas hotel and its replica Eiffel Tower, as well as Caesar's Palace, Planet Hollywood, and more.
