20 Stunning Open World Game Areas That Left You SPEECHLESS
8. The Secret Garden (Shadow of the Colossus)
If you were to pick up an open-world game only to find that said world had very little to do and was mostly empty, you would probably feel ripped off, right? Well, therein lies the absolute magic of the ground-breaking Shadow of the Colossus, as the setting for this game is mostly barren and destitute, and yet it's thrilling.
While there isn't much to do, there are still some sights to see, with one of the most inspiring being the Secret Garden. This area, at the peak of the game's central shrine, is a serene, peaceful place that feels genuinely sacred. There are some gorgeous trees inside the structure, and some forbidden fruit that lower your stats if you eat them. That sounds bad on paper, but given the context of what you're doing in this world, they are technically healing fruit.
Still, if you're expecting to make it to this area as soon as you boot the game up, then you're going to need to slow down, Buster. Getting there requires a lot of time spent in-game. To achieve the levels of stamina required to about reach it, you'll need to complete the game thrice at minimum. Oh yeah, it's hard work.
