15. A Gym Leader's Potion Use Is Nothing Short Of Traumatising

One of the elements of Pokémon games that never translated into Ash's adventures in the TV series was the use of trainer tools to help boost a team's longevity in battle. In the games, items like potions and berries are essential to keeping the fight alive when things are looking grim.

That being said, there's still nothing more galling than getting a Gym Leader or Elite Four member's team down to a tiny fraction of their max HP, only for the trainer to drop a Full Restore or Max Potion and return them to their fittest state.

Watching as the enemy Pokémon's HP bar slowly refills is the kind of thing to send a sane gamer over the edge. All that hard work, all of that careful planning and strategy, only for Whitney's Miltank to get all of its HP back and to start steamrollering your precious team with that cursed Rollout move. Asylums across the world are no doubt full of patients who suffered such cruel injustice.
