5. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture
A controversial choice somewhat (just be thankful I didn't put No Man's Sky on here), Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is the epitome of the derisively-named 'Walking Simulator' genre.
Taking place in the completely abandoned English town of Shropshire, you're free to roam the countryside, streets and quaint houses of the local populace - all with the express purpose of discovering where they've all gone. Along the way, gameplay involves listening to audio recordings that come with recreations of whoever was talking played out in front of you as characters are cloaked in thin veils of sparkling white light.
As you can tell from this description, it's definitely not going to be for everyone. However, if you could get on board with Gone Home and liked what Firewatch was going for (yes, even with that endgame twist), there's a lot to love about Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.
Just be ready for another divisive endgame twist...
