20 Unlucky Moments That TOTALLY Ruin Your Game

6. Teleport Platform Bug - Fallout 4

Like all Bethesda games, Fallout 4 is not without its fair share of bugs. Most of these are the type of silly and innocent glitches that people love Bethesda RPGs for, but if you’re really unlucky, you might come across a devastating glitch that can potentially erase hours of gameplay.

During the pivotal mission where your character, mild spoiler alert, constructs the teleport platform to transport themselves inside the mysterious Institute, the process can be randomly affected by a bug that will prevent you from finishing the quest, potentially soft-locking you out of the main questline.

The bug causes the game to not register you putting down the individual pieces of the machine, preventing it from turning the machine operational and allowing you to progress the story.

The bug cannot be fixed, so your only solution is to load your game back to before the mission starts and hope the issue doesn’t trigger again. Given this, the bug can cost you hours of gameplay, if not your entire campaign, if you don’t save too often.

Worst of all, despite all the speculation online, no one really knows what causes the bug to occur, so whether you are affected or not is completely random.

You just have to hope luck is on your side.
