20 Upcoming Games GTA 6 Has RUINED 2026 For
16. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
1943 has a lot going for it: it’s set in an intriguing, less-explored region of the Marvel brand - Hydra’s evolution during WW2 - with a chance to couple tense espionage with superhero bombast. A cast featuring Captain America, Black Panther, and the Howling Commandos at its center makes for a tasty combo too. It’s also Amy Hennig’s (Uncharted series creator) long-awaited return to gaming as a lead creative.
Despite the massive brand association, this could easily be smothered by the GTA title. Marvel fatigue is a very real thing, and the results show in both box office numbers and game sales. Unless Spider-Man’s name is plastered on it, Marvel is a risky investment in the current market (see Midnight Suns, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers).
Not to mention, the jury is still out on the hype train - so far, we’ve only seen cinematic trailers to sell the concept, which keeps gamers jaded. If they’re smart, we can probably expect a full-year delay or a late release.
