20 Video Game Enemies Designed To RUIN Your Day
1. Malboro - Final Fantasy
There are few enemies in the annals of gaming that have truly mastered the art of ruining the player's day, but arguably the Malboro is the one that comes in at top of the class.
The very definition of a classic video game enemy, this toothy, tendrily bastard has been giving nerdy types the sweats since 1988, when they were first introduced in Final Fantasy II as a fairly tough enemy that dished out some nasty status effects. It was their appearance in Final Fantasy IV however that cemented their place in history as certified day-ruiners as it was the debut of their Bad Breath attack, a truly heinous creation that sees them inflict numerous status effects at once, including Toad, Mini, Berserk, Poison, and a few others.
What makes it even worse is that Bad Breath is their default opening attack, meaning your team can be completely incapacitated in an instant should you not have the right kind of resistances. Should you fall victim to Bad Breath, you'll have to watch as your team slowly succumbs to the Malboro, leaving you with very few options of survival.
A truly evil enemy if there ever was one.
