Grand Theft Auto San Andreas’ most secretive location is Area 69. Crudely named in true Rockstar fashion, this fictional counterpart of Area 51 contains various government secrets, including experimental new technology, weapons, and even traces of alien activity.

Also, a reference to another famous video game lab, Black Mesa.

Only the exterior of Area 69 is typically available for exploration, but during the mission “Black Project,” you get one chance to infiltrate the labs of the facility as well.

Most of the laboratories are about what you’d expect from a parody of Area 51, but if you explore the location a little bit more, there is also a secret easter egg room.

One of the labs that you can peek into through a window looks like a replica of the rooms in Half-Life’s Black Mesa. As if that wasn’t enough, there is also a crowbar on the table inside of the room as a clear reference to Half-Life’s protagonist Gordon Freeman and his weapon of choice.

Since the interior of Area 69 is only accessible during one mission, you only get one chance to spot this reference. For this reason, a lot of players don’t even know it exists.
