20 Video Game Sequels NOBODY Defends

16. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (2024)

There was genuinely a time when the most controversial and divisive entry in the Rocksteady Arkham series was Batman: Arkham Knight. Oh, how naïve a time that was, because this follow-up did everything it could to tarnish that legacy. The sad thing is that it pretty much did.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts you in the shoes of the titular group of villains, as they're tasked with, well, killing the Justice League. The promising premise had people excited, until they heard those dreaded words: "live-service."

Suicide Squad focused on repetitive gameplay loops, forcing you to fight enemies, grind for better gear, and do precious little else, making it a repetitive slog. To make matters worse, it made the controversial decision to (spoiler warning) have the protagonists seemingly kill off Rocksteady's Batman in shocking fashion. It is later revealed that this is a clone and not the actual Bruce, but the scene went viral for all the wrong reasons.

The best defence this game had was that it was fun to play for a little bit before the repetition kicked in. As such, it's no surprise it earned itself a spot on this list.
